Stay locked in
Block your apps.
Actually stay locked in.
Set the rule once, and it holds even when willpower doesn't. Pick your apps, choose how you unlock, done. No account, no server, no complicated Screen Time routine.
3-day free trial · iPhone · No account required
The average person spends 2 h 21 min on social media a day. That is almost 36 full days a year, gone.
DataReportal, 2026
Adults aged 18–24 average over 3 hours daily. Teens average 4 hours 48 minutes. Every day.
DemandSage, 2026
A study of 7,000+ young people found depression risk rose up to sevenfold with increasing smartphone use.

Why LOXN
Simple to use. Impossible to escape.
Every other blocker has a back door. This one does not. That is the entire point.
Setup in two minutes
No account. No server. No email. Pick your apps, choose how you want to unlock, and you're done. LOXN needs nothing from you except a few taps.
Actually strict
Real OS-level blocks through Apple's Screen Time framework. Not a VPN overlay, not a passcode you set and remember. The app genuinely cannot be opened. Blocked is blocked.
Front-load your discipline
You have to be strong once, when you set it up, not every time after. Configure the rule while you're thinking clearly, and it holds you to it later, when you aren't.
Yours to shape
Which apps get blocked, how you unlock, how long you get, how long before you can unlock again. You write the rules. LOXN just refuses to bend them.
No tasks. No lectures.
Other blockers make you breathe, journal, solve maths problems or do push-ups at midnight. LOXN blocks your apps and gets out of the way.
Modes
A mode for every part of your day.
One blocker isn't enough, because mornings, deep work and bedtime are different problems.
Sessions you can’t quit early
Start a timed deep-work session and your distracting apps stay locked until the timer runs out. No early exits, no “just five minutes.” The block screen even changes to match the session, so every attempt reminds you what you are in the middle of.
Any hour you start one
Win the first hour
Keeps distracting apps locked when you wake up, so you get up and get going before you get online. No doomscrolling in bed. It only lifts once you are properly up and moving.
The hours after you wake
Earned slack at bedtime
A controlled window from 10 to 45 minutes, then everything relocks on its own. A 22-hour cooldown means it works once a day, at night, and not as a daytime loophole.
Once a night, then 22 h locked out
Post without the flood
Need Instagram or TikTok to actually post, not scroll? A temporary partial unlock for the apps you create in, while everything else stays shut.
Any hour, for as long as you set
A reason to keep showing up
Every day you stay locked in builds your streak. Watch it grow, protect it, and share it as proof you are actually doing the thing.
Counts the whole day
How it works
Three decisions, then it runs itself.
Pick your apps
Choose exactly what gets blocked. Phone, Maps, Camera and Messages stay untouched unless you say otherwise. Most people block social media and whatever they open out of boredom.
Choose how you unlock
Tap and hold, Face ID, or a physical NFC card you tap to your phone. The card is the strict option: leave it in another room and the friction does the work for you.
Set your timers
How long apps stay open after you unlock, and how long you must wait before unlocking again. Both are yours to set, and once set they hold.
The evidence
“Limiting social media use to approximately 30 minutes per day may lead to significant improvement in well-being.”
University of Pennsylvania, Hunt et al. (2018), Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology. A randomised controlled trial of 143 students: the limited-use group showed significant reductions in loneliness and depression after just three weeks.
Privacy
There is no server to leak.
LOXN has no accounts and no database. Nothing about how you use it reaches us, because there is nowhere for it to go.
We never learn what you block
Apple's Screen Time API hands the app anonymous tokens, not app names. Your block list is unreadable to us by design, not by policy.
Your NFC card never leaves your phone
The card's identifier is hashed with SHA-256 the moment it's read, and only the hash is kept, in the iOS Keychain, device-only, excluded from iCloud backups.
No analytics, no tracking, no ads
No usage analytics, no advertising identifier, no third-party SDKs, no location. The only thing you can send us is feedback, and only if you type it yourself.
Motion data is read and thrown away
If you turn on Morning Lock's accuracy option, a brief motion check runs on your phone to see whether you've been up a while. It is evaluated in the moment and discarded. Never stored, never sent.

FAQ
Questions we actually get asked.
What if I really need to unlock and something bad could happen?
You get 3 emergency unlocks per month, resetting on the 1st. An emergency unlock opens everything immediately, then automatically relocks after 2 hours: long enough to deal with something real, short enough that it cannot quietly become your whole day. The limit is deliberate: unlimited emergency unlocks stop being emergencies. If you know you'll need a specific app regularly, the better move is to leave it off your block list entirely.
Can I still use my phone normally?
Yes. You choose exactly which apps get blocked. Phone, Maps, Camera, Messages and anything else you need stay fully accessible. LOXN only blocks what you tell it to. Most people block social media and the apps they open out of habit rather than intention.
Is my data private?
Completely. Everything stays on your device and there is no account. LOXN never learns which apps you block, because Apple's Screen Time API only hands over anonymous tokens. Notification timings, unlock windows and relock schedules all run locally. The only thing that ever leaves your phone is feedback you choose to write, which goes through our own relay straight to our inbox.
Can I block websites too?
Yes. LOXN can block specific websites and entire app categories through Apple's Screen Time framework: Instagram the app, the website, and the whole social category at once if you want.
What happens to notifications from blocked apps?
They don't arrive while the app is blocked. That's how Apple's Screen Time framework works, and it is expected behaviour rather than a fault, but it does mean you can miss messages from a blocked app during a session. Worth thinking about before you add something you rely on.
Can I delete the app to get around it?
Only if you leave Commitment Lock off. Turn it on and iOS prevents app deletion while a session is active, including deleting LOXN itself. It's off by default, and turning it on is your call.
How do I still reply to friends?
Try Sociallite. It lets you see your feeds and inboxes across platforms without the infinite scroll. It can be glitchy for posting or browsing, but for replying to people it works well enough that you won't miss anything that matters.
